What's with the Pink Tractor?
A short, but very true story!

Cathy’s brother, John Lee Conn, is the epitome of a true, Texas cowboy. He farms and ranches for his living.

When Roy, their dad, passed away and left them to be the next generation of land owners, he also passed his equipment to them. John Lee ended up with two sizable tractors.....a Farmall and a cabbed White. Cathy, on the other hand, ended up with a rusted, non-running 8-N Ford.

At different times, Cathy would ask John Lee if she or Mark could borrow one of the running tractors to do some simple chores and such. The answer was always an excuse as to what John Lee needed to do the next day or a story about who was borrowing the tractor and where it was and how hard it would be to get it back to the ranch.

Well, enough of that! When Mark and Cathy decided to go into farming full time, they decided they needed to have something bigger than the Troy Built tiller! Mark took the Ford to a mechanic in Fredericksburg to be “made whole again”! When the work was done and running very well, she came back home. Well, John Lee thought that was just the “cat’s meow”, that the 8-N was running again!

“Well, I could sure use that Ford on a fence job. It could get places where those bigger tractors can’t get”, John Lee stated (on more than one occasion)!

Whoa.

Mark went into action. He decided that not only did she need to have the rust knocked off of her, but also she needed a good painting! He knew of a man that was just starting up a paint and body business and took the old gal out there for a touch up, or so he told Cathy!

When the 8-N Ford came back home, there she stood in all her glory.....”Powder Puff Pink” and white!

When brother John saw it, he smiled and stated, “Why, no self respecting man would drive that thing”!!!
