WHAT'S BEHIND THE KITCHEN DOOR?
We call the "inside" of the market, the Kitchen! Come on in and visit with us!

We first built the kitchen to cook jams and preserves and ice cream from the fruit that was being sold throughout the season. Ok, maybe cobbler, too! And then one thing led to another and the whole kitchen ended up being a little bakery. And that little bakery job got bigger and bigger!

So we have decided last winter to scale the old kitchen back to the origianl concept. When we opened in 2008, the glass counter with all those cookies was be gone. We are back to preserves, ice cream, and cobblers! Maybe a couple of other items, but that is the backbone - and the original concept - of our little kitchen.

And ice cream we will have! Our ice cream is very time demanding! Remember that we cook our custard from whole milk, cream, and lots of wholesome eggs! And after cooling, we churn it up! We have creamy Vanilla and silky Chocolate everyday, and we also try and have a fun flavor, too! Toasted Coconut is a favorite of our customers, as well as Espresso!

And of course, the primary flavor, when in season, is the Peach Ice Cream! Last year during the Lavender Festival, we churned a Blackberry Lavender Gelato that was way good! Look for that again this year!

While you are inside the Kitchen, look around at the other products we carry! Our homemade Granola has become such a hit that we are going to devote a lot of time to it, also! And of course, there is the Peanut Brittle! Yeah!

Mark's sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Keith Reeh, own and operate Hill Country Homestyle, a specialty canning company located in Fredericksburg! They make their custom pickles from fresh produce and those pickles are made from cucumbers, okra, garlic, and jalapenos! We stock many different varieties of their pickles! Hill Country Homestyle has a true following and we have dubbed them "pickle junkies" because they buy their pickles by the case full! Try our favorite, Bread and Butter Jalapenos! You'll be hooked, too!

Tamara and Bill Dees, from Bulverde, own and operate Mild Bill's, and we carry their winning salsa! Why a winner? Because they use vine ripened tomatoes and peppers for their products and that true flavor makes your mouth sing! Try their "Texas Twist"! It's a hot peach preserve that is unbeatable!

Blanco Valley Farms sure sells a lot of Candied Jalapenos and dip mixes with us, too! And they are our neighbors from right here in Blanco!

And of course, true to our beginnings, we still cook up our own jams, jellies, and preserves from our seasonal fruit!

Chrissy Omo, a 2006 grad from Blanco High, owns and operates CKC Farms, an artisian Goat Cheese outfit! She has mastered the art and we are very proud to share her product with you! Feta, Seasoned Feta, basket molded Chevre, Herbed Chevre, and Midnite Chevre, Baby Carpino, and Baby Blue rounds up her list of offerings! Try some of these smooth and mild cheeses, you'll never think of goat cheese in the same way again!

We are always trying to seek out and find other Hill Country products to share with our customers! If you know of someone that has something that we should check out, let us know!
